Dr. Stanford-Rue is the Co-Director of the Institute for Pregnancy Loss in Jacksonville, Florida, an independent non-profit research & treatment center. She serves as Co-Director with her husband, Dr. Vincent Rue. Dr. Stanford-Rue received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University in 1975.  

For 30 years Dr. Stanford-Rue has been a practicing psychotherapist and has served on the faculty of Wayne State University and was Dean at Unity College in Maine. Dr. Stanford-Rue is the author of Will I Cry Tomorrow? which is the dramatic story of psychological brokenness she suffered after her own abortion. The book further details how she was restored to psychological wholeness through God’s forgiveness and healing love.  

Dr. Stanford-Rue speaks both nationally and internationally on the topic of Post-Abortion Syndrome and how women can find reconciliation and healing after the trauma of abortion. She is particularly known for her expertise in the area of integrating the psychological and spiritual aspects of healing abortion trauma in particular and pregnancy loss in general. 

Dr. Stanford-Rue has also been active in women’s issues and has served as a consultant on affirmative action in the corporate sector as well. She has worked with numerous corporations doing staff development, team building, stress management, and conflict resolution.  

Dr. Stanford-Rue is also an active member of several national boards of directors, including the Christian Healing Ministries in Florida and the Nurturing Network in California.
