Fran Arrillaga
(1941-1995)
Humanitarian and Philanthropist
Dedicated Nurturing Network Board Member

"Mary, serving on the Board of Directors of the Nurturing Network has given me a profound respect for the awesome courage of TNN’s Clients and a deep appreciation for your wisdom in recognizing how powerful a nationwide Network could be.  I take inspiration in my own life from TNN’s stories of service and the friendships that I have formed over the years.  I am especially grateful to you and your Staff whose dedication is truly remarkable."

Fran Arrillaga was a devoted wife, mother of two, and philanthropist who left a lasting legacy of service to her family, friends and community.  Her steadfast support of many Nurturing Network Clients over her years of service as a Director continues to bring joy to the lives of the women and children who were blessed by her practical compassion.

In addition to her family, Fran’s passion was community service and philanthropy.  Whether it was in support of the Nurturing Network, the YMCA, the Family Service Mid-Peninsula or the Castilleja School, Fran Arrillaga was an extraordinary volunteer whose greatest gift to the community was her affection, commitment and undaunted energy.  The Alumni Center at Stanford University is named in her memory as an ongoing tribute to her commitment to the enhancement of educational opportunities for so many students at this prestigious college.

Fran leaves a legacy of kindness that inspires each of us to reach out tirelessly and generously in helping to build a more hope-filled, safe and peaceful world.

Fran Arrillaga died from cancer at age 54 in 1995.
